RM 75-01 Flying Tourbillon Sapphire Pink

Richard Mille extends its pioneering exploration of sapphire with the RM 75-01 Flying Tourbillon Sapphire—a breathtaking expression of technical artistry and avant-garde design.

Description

Specifically developed for this model, the RM75-01 calibre integrates a flying tourbillon and a flying barrel within a fully skeletonised movement, designed to let light and structure flow seamlessly through its architecture. Crafted from synthetic sapphire, the tripartite case is a triumph of micrometric engineering, requiring over 1,000 hours of meticulous machining and polishing to achieve its flawless transparency and durability.

The RM 75-01 is available in three limited editions, each inspired by the shifting tones of water and light. The clear sapphire version evokes sunlit seas and is paired with a sea-green strap, while two other models feature coloured sapphire casebacks—one in lilac pink, reminiscent of dusk over tranquil waters, and the other in deep sapphire blue, capturing the enigmatic depths of the ocean. These versions not only offer visual distinction but also deliver a tactile warmth and smoothness unique to sapphire, complemented by the contrasting inner structure of titanium and red gold.

Within its crystalline shell beats a movement that defies expectations: lightweight, minimalist in form, yet incredibly intricate in function. A titanium baseplate coated with 5N gold PVD anchors the rhodium-treated wheels, while the open bridgework amplifies depth and dimensionality. The design echoes architectural principles, drawing on Gothic ribbed vaults and symmetry to shape the layout of the flange and components. SuperLuminova accents and flowing contours lend a kinetic, luminous quality to the piece—transforming time into motion, shadow into spectacle.

The RM 75-01 Flying Tourbillon Sapphire is not merely a timekeeper—it’s an immersive experience in light, space, and craftsmanship. Each edition is a rare convergence of high horology and artistic intent, where the boundaries between form and function dissolve into pure innovation.
